What happens when credits run out

What changes in the app, how to top up, and how to avoid running dry mid campaign.

When your credit balance hits zero, Videna does not break. The app keeps working, your library stays intact, and your settings stay where they are. You just cannot start a new generation until you add more credits.

What you see when you run out

The credit counter in the top right turns to 0. The Generate button on the Create page changes to Top up or Upgrade. The cost estimate next to the prompt still updates so you can see what your next video would cost. Everything else in the app keeps working.

Topping up

Click the credit counter in the top right and pick Buy credits. Top ups come in three sizes that match the monthly allowances of the three plans, at the same per credit price. They are billed once through Shopify and added to your balance immediately. Unlike your monthly credits, which reset to your plan allowance at each renewal, top up credits stay on your account until you spend them and do not expire while your subscription is active.

Upgrading instead

If you find yourself topping up two months in a row, the math probably favors upgrading to the next tier. The per credit price is the same on every plan, but a tier upgrade gets you the credits as part of your monthly subscription instead of as separate purchases, which is easier to forecast.

Avoiding the dry spell

Set a calendar reminder a few days before your renewal date if you tend to push videos late in the cycle. The renewal date is shown in the credit counter popover. If you are running a campaign that needs steady output for a week, top up at the start of the campaign rather than mid week, so you do not have to think about your balance while you ship.

What stays available

Your full library, including replay, download, and share, stays available even with zero credits. Your character descriptions stay saved. Your default brand style stays set. Your billing history stays viewable. The only thing blocked is starting a new generation.

After you cancel

If you cancel your subscription, your remaining credits stay on your account and do not expire, and your library stays viewable too. The one change is that new generations are paused until you pick a plan again, so resubscribe whenever you want to start creating. Cancelling is not the same as removing the app. Uninstalling Videna starts a deletion timeline instead, which the uninstall guide explains in full.

If your generations keep failing and your credits are not coming back, that is a different problem. The fix is on the credits did not refresh page.
