Upgrade or downgrade your plan

How to change tiers, when each change takes effect, and what happens to your credits.

You can change your Videna subscription tier at any time from the Plans page. The two flows behave differently because of how Shopify Billing handles prorated charges.

How to upgrade

Open Plans from the sidebar. Find the tier you want and click Upgrade. Shopify will show a confirmation screen with the new price and a prorated charge for the rest of your current cycle. Confirm the charge. Within a few seconds the new credit allowance lands in your balance and the new tier shows as your active plan.

How a downgrade works

Downgrades are scheduled for the end of your current cycle so you keep the credits you have already paid for. From the Plans page, click Downgrade on the tier you want to move to. A confirmation modal will show your current cycle end date and the date the new tier will start. Confirm and the change is queued. Until the cycle ends, your account stays on the higher tier and continues to receive that tier's credit allowance.

Switching from Pro to Starter mid cycle

You can downgrade at any point in your cycle, even on day one. The downgrade is queued, the higher tier stays active until the cycle ends, and the lower tier begins at renewal. Until then you keep the higher tier allowance you already paid for and can spend it through the rest of the cycle. At renewal your monthly credits reset to the lower tier allowance, so the monthly portion does not carry past the switch. Any top up credits you bought are separate and stay on your account.

Canceling your subscription

If you want to stop billing entirely, click Cancel subscription at the bottom of the Plans page. Your plan ends and new generations are paused right away, but the app stays installed and nothing is deleted. Your library stays viewable and your remaining credits stay on your account. When you want to create again, resubscribe to any plan and your retained credits are still there. Removing the app is a separate step with its own timeline, covered in the uninstall guide.

Multi store accounts

If you run more than one Shopify store, each store has its own Videna subscription. Plans, credits, and libraries are not shared across stores. If you want unified billing, talk to us through the contact page and we can explore options.

When billing pauses

If your Shopify subscription billing fails, Videna pauses your account but does not delete anything. Generations are blocked until your billing is restored. Your library stays viewable. Updating your payment method inside Shopify resumes your account automatically.
